Butterscotch Pie  Recipe

Ingredients: Gather ingredients such as a pre-baked pie crust, brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, milk, egg yolks, butter, vanilla extract, and whipped cream for topping.

Prepare Filling: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.

Temper Eggs: In a small bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Gradually whisk in a small amount of hot mixture.

Add Butter and Vanilla: Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla extract until butter is melted. Pour into the pre-baked pie crust.

Chill: Cover and refrigerate until set, usually for 4 hours or overnight.

Serve: Top with whipped cream before serving, offering a delightful contrast to the rich butterscotch filling.
