Caramel Pie Recipe

Ingredients: Gather ingredients like pre-made or homemade pie crust, sugar, cornstarch, salt, milk, egg yolks, vanilla extract, butter, and whipped cream for topping.

Prepare Pie Crust: If using a pre-made pie crust, follow package instructions for baking. If making homemade crust, prepare and bake until golden brown according to your recipe.

Make Caramel Filling: In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.

Temper Eggs: In a small bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Gradually whisk in a small amount of hot mixture.

Add Vanilla and Butter: Remove from heat; stir in vanilla extract and butter until melted. Pour the caramel filling into the pre-baked pie crust.

Chill and Serve: Cover and refrigerate until set, typically for 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream for added indulgence.
